2021.12.02 21:37 CallMeAdam2 Does Paizo talk about what mana is in Golarion?
I can certainly guess what mana is, and I'd bet I'm right, but I haven't found anything on Archives of Nethys, PathfinderWiki, or Pathfinder Wiki (yes, the two different wikis) that directly states what mana is. I'd like to hear what Paizo has to say about how mana works in Golarion's magic system.
Is it inert magic? Magic potential? How do they define it? Does a caster store it, then expend it to cast spells, or draw it from the environment at the moment of casting? Questions like this.
I'd like to know where I can find Paizo's answers to this, out of curiosity.

2021.12.02 21:37 DrDrago-4 [Due 2021-12-02 11:00pm] Supplemental essay (2 sentences)
I have two sentences in this essay that Grammarly wants to delete commas for.. But the commas seem correct to me? I've boxed the commas suggested for deletion, wondering if others think the sentence is correct as written, or if I should delete the boxed commas as Grammarly suggests?
Sentence 1: "It is an extreme example, but considering the motivations and thoughts behind historical actors is a big reason why I enjoy learning about all types of historical events, from past disasters and almost-catastrophes[,] to things as seemingly mundane as the advent of the highway system. "
Sentence 2: "The motivations and thoughts of Vasili Alexandrovich Arkhipov, who averted a possible nuclear war, have helped lead to my desire to understand the thought process behind historical actors[,] since I was fascinated immensely trying to consider myself in his situation. "

2021.12.02 21:37 Iron_Creepy Aftermath of Terraforming
Hello! I'm working on a short story (perhaps to become an anthology, we will see) set on a terraformed Venus in the first century after the environment has been permanently altered, the first seas and forests have had a chance to grow, and now the first wave of new colonists has begun to arrive. One thing I wanted to examine is the consequences of such an altered environment on the first wave of colonies, which I presume for the sake of the narrative were floating cloud cities. I'm looking for any science fiction works that have examined a similar topic as well as generally more information on the specific theories about how the cities would be designed so I can get a good understanding of how the altered atmosphere will affect their ability to stay in the sky (for reference, the atmosphere is still thicker than Earth, about three times as thick, so likely has a bit more "lift" than it would on Earth but obviously not nearly enough to keep the cities in flight as they were originally designed. I'm also somewhat handwaving how they survived the initial rains and storms that no doubt whipped across Venus during the initial stages of terraformation- a lot of them were destroyed, but these cities would have been designed to survive hurricane force winds that we see on present day Venus as well as deadly sulphuric acids and other such hazards...these things would have to be built to last and endure from day 1, so it isn't too outrageous to assume many can survive the changes.
